Things to consider when moving to Buy on Board

Recently there has been much talk about full service airlines moving over to a Buy on Board model. Reports complain about slow service, so bad that on many flights reports suggest that only the first few rows of an aircraft are served. Other reports complain of credit cards being rejected for no reason, the point of sale device not knowing what is on a trolley, and loyalty points not being able to be used for payment. Obviously with such a significant change, there will always be issues and teething problems, but its interesting to look and see if these problems are inevitable when moving to a Buy on Board model. I guess the fact that we have been supplying onboard retail systems for 30 years to a variety of airlines both full service and BOB gives us a bit of an advantage to start with so lets look at the issues involved.  Read More >>
